The full Sparkle Trail is 5.3 km, but you can shorten the route to 3.6 km, making it manageable even for younger children. The Sparkle Trail is magical in the evening, but during the day or at dusk, you can also enjoy the enchanting light installations, and the AR games are still available. This year, a brand-new, special experience has been added to Valkenburg’s Christmas activities: the Sparkle Trail. This unique and interactive light walk takes you through the charmingly lit streets of the town center, passing no fewer than 15 impressive light installations designed specifically to immerse you in the magical Christmas atmosphere.
Augmented Reality games
From the very first steps, you find yourself in a world of twinkling lights that transform Valkenburg into a fairytale setting. Explorers of the Sparkle Trail are drawn into the story of Professor Dr. Falckenstein. And especially for kids (and adults who love to join in), there are AR games where you can help Professor Dr. Falckenstein with his mission, which is now in jeopardy.

The route is only available in Dutch, but don’t worry! With the handy map in hand, you can easily follow the trail and enjoy all the beauty along the way. After all, pictures speak louder than words!
