The success of culinary walking route ‘Route d’Amuse’ has been unprecedented for years and the recipe is simple. During one of the walking routes you will receive a delicious ‘amuse bouche’ at each of four different catering establishments. The routes allow you to discover a part of Christmas Town Valkenburg, but also some of its beautiful surroundings. This year there are no fewer than 4 routes to walk.

This culinary walk is the ideal way to spend a long morning or afternoon enjoying a small bite to eat and walking with your family, a group of friends or colleagues, at the end or beginning of the year. Equally tasty bites are provided to both children and vegetarians!
Make the Route d'Amuse even more relaxing and travel by Public Transport. The train takes you directly to the heart of Valkenburg. This way you can also fully enjoy a drink during the walk and you don't have to worry about the return journey. View here what promotions there are for using public transport.
What routes are there?
There are four Christmas routes d'Amuse, each with a different theme, passing by various dining establishments:
- Route 1 yellow, castles & history (4.5 km): Kasteel Oost - Kasteel Schaloen - Parkhotel Valkenburg - Berkelplein.
- Route 2 blue, sporty & nature (5.5 km): Shimano Experience Center - Zoete Zoen - Party & Bites - Taverne 't Koetshoes.
- Route 3 red, expansive Valkenburg (5 km): Wilhelminatoren (Cable Car Amusement Park) - Gastrobar de Kei - restaurant Bruis - Taverne 't Koetshoes.
- Route 4 green, Old Valkenburg & more (4 km): Kasteel Schaloen - Bie Jeanneke - De Herbergier - B&B het Gerendal.
Exception: route 4 is not available on Tuesdays and is not offered in January.
