What is the best way to reach Christmas Town Valkenburg by public transport?
Christmas Town Valkenburg is easily accessible by public transport. Trains run regularly to Valkenburg station, which is within walking distance of the attractions of Christmas Town Valkenburg. You can plan your trip from any point in the Netherlands on 9292.nl or via the app. You can also use this website for travel from Liège or Aachen. What is the walking distance from the center of Valkenburg to the various Christmas attractions?
Most of Valkenburg's Christmas attractions are located a short walk from the station and center, making it easy to move from one activity to another on foot.

- Distance from Valkenburg station to the Christmas caves: from the station it is about a 10-minute walk to the Gemeentegrot or the Velvet Cave. 

- Distance from Valkenburg station to the center of Valkenburg: within 5-7 minutes you will be in the center of Valkenburg. 

- Distance from Valkenburg station to Winter Wonderland (and the cable car): this attraction is about a 15-minute walk from the station.

Is there parking available near Christmas Town Valkenburg?
Park your car at a P+R location nearby and take the train for the last part. This way you avoid parking stress and you may even park for free. Or make sure you purchase an official parking ticket before your visit, which guarantees you parking at Parking Cauberg or Parking Parcourse 2 for only €9.00. These parking tickets sell out quickly, so it is advisable to purchase them on time.

Which exit should I take if I come by car?
- Coming from the direction of Cologne - Aachen - Heerlen, take the A79 towards Maastricht/Valkenburg. Take the exit Hulsberg – Valkenburg Centrum (exit 4) and follow the yellow signs 'Kerststad Valkenburg' and the instructions of the traffic controllers.

- Coming from Eindhoven, follow the A2 towards Maastricht. At the Valkenburg exit (approx. 5 km before Maastricht) you leave the highway. Follow the signs towards Valkenburg to arrive at the A79. Take the Valkenburg-Houthem exit (exit 3) and follow the yellow signs 'Kerststad Valkenburg' and the instructions of the traffic controllers.

- Coming from the direction of Liège – Maastricht, follow the A2 towards Eindhoven and then take the first exit towards A79 Heerlen / Valkenburg. Take the Valkenburg-Houthem exit (exit 3) and follow the yellow signs 'Kerststad Valkenburg' and the instructions of the traffic controllers.

How busy is it during Christmas Town Valkenburg?
During the Christmas period it can be quite busy in and around Valkenburg. It is wise to plan extra travel time, especially on weekends and during events. Where possible, use public transport to avoid traffic and park your car at a P+R outside Valkenburg where possible.

What is the best time to travel to Kerststad Valkenburg to avoid crowds?
To avoid the biggest crowds, we recommend coming during the week instead of the weekend. Even during the week you can still fully enjoy the atmospheric lighting and attractions of Valkenburg Christmas Town.

Is there room for my coach?
It is best to drop off and pick up your passengers at the entry and exit stop at the P Odapark-Margrietlaan car park. Always switch off your engine when stationary and do not let it idle unnecessarily. Opposite the boarding and disembarking stop, a large parking lot has been reserved for coaches. If this parking lot is full, a parking overflow will be set up on the Cauberg. You can only use this on the instructions of the traffic controllers. 

Book your parking ticket for your coach in advance for €25.00. If you do not book your parking ticket in advance, you will be charged €40.00 on site for parking your bus.
